Fine vertical rows of stitching, made up of tiny dots pulled tight, run down the face of the cover and give it a soft rippled texture, closer to hand-worked cloth than to any print. In bluish silver gray it is grey on grey and very quiet; in green and silver the two threads sit against each other and the surface shifts as you move past it; in purple and champagne the wave in the stripe is more pronounced.
