The Liga Privada 10 Aniversario marks ten years of the Liga Privada brand. Drew Estate released it in December 2018 with a wrapper it had never used on a Liga before: a Connecticut River Valley Criollo, grown exclusively for the factory. The first run was 1,000 boxes. It sold through fast, then earned a spot in regular production. The build is pure Liga Privada, aimed higher. The Criollo wrapper covers a Mexican San Andrés Otapan Negro Último Corte binder and a filler core of Nicaraguan and Pennsylvanian leaf. The Pennsylvania tobacco is Green River One Sucker ligero — the same high-strength leaf Drew Estate reserves for its most intense blends. Two finishing touches set it apart: a covered foot and a cola de pescado (fishtail) cap that takes a roller about thirty seconds each to shape. The profile runs earthier and meatier than the No. 9, with more spice and a sweeter retrohale. Expect rich earth, leather, espresso, dark chocolate, cedar, and black pepper, with a salted-nut sweetness underneath. This is a full-bodied cigar built for smokers who already know the Liga Privada line and want the fullest version of it.
