Antique Victorian Floral Book Chain, Silver, 45cm or 7.75 inches, 22.43g

Victorian book chains are just the most fabulous piece of history and we want to hoard them all. Each so unique and so carefully hand cut and engraved - just look at the craft and workmanship into making this utterly magical collar. The design features a carved flower on each face and the stylised petals that allow the chain to move so effortlessly. Held with a great 15mm bolt clasp - we love that this can be a feature at the front, the back or hold a pendant (like the coin in the pic - which is not included with the necklace - it is just for show). The necklace is light for what it looks like and this is thanks to the amazing way this chain has been put together - and where the necklace gets it name from - the profile looks like a book - with the covers top and bottom. You could of course wear this the reverse way too - but it was definitely made to have those flowers the star of the show. Clasp works well. Care - As a general rule - jewellery should not be worn for strenuous tasks that may put pressure, chemicals and weight on them (think cleaning, gym, swimming/spa, carrying things). Jewellery should be inspected checked every six months by a jeweller to check for wear. Please be aware that this item is pre-loved and therefore is NOT new.
