The Pearl Oyster (Pleurotus ostreatus) also known as the 'tree oyster' is a strain of mushroom favoured by commercial growers around the world for it's fleshy caps, vigorous nature and high yields. In the wild it's far less common than the Grey Oyster and normally found in the winter, however when cultivated it has a broad temperature range.
