A beautifully crafted Mid-Century Modern piece by K. Westra, produced circa 1960s in teak and blackwood. Originally from Holland, Westra migrated to Australia in 1951 after establishing a successful cabinetmaking business in Europe. In Australia, his workshop became highly regarded for its exceptional craftsmanship and worked closely with the Australian National University and various government departments, producing furniture designs by notable Australian designers including Fred Ward and Derek Wrigley. This piece presents in refinished condition, with minor imperfections remaining; small veneer repairs to corners, hard to spot.
