Bedrock Alibi | Original Abstract Landscape Painting

Starting with a loose compositional sketch, I build, scrape back and rework the surface, letting the marks gradually lead the painting somewhere unexpected. Bedrock Alibi never really became one particular landscape. Instead, fragments of land, rough boundaries and map-like lines began to emerge. I like that ambiguity, leaving the viewer to find their own sense of place within it. 40 x 40cm (43 x 43cm framed) Mixed Media on canvas.
