Dry Formula Powder Storage: Location: Store the unmixed dry powder in an airtight container in a cool, dark, and dry pantry. Freezing: For long-term storage, keep the dry powder in the freezer to prevent the fats from going rancid. Bring it to room temperature before mixing. Mixed (Liquid) Formula Storage: The Golden Rule: Never store or reuse leftover mixed formula. Discard: Throw away any leftover liquid formula immediately after a feeding. Bacteria multiply rapidly in warm, wet bird food. Freshness: Mix a completely fresh batch of formula for every single feeding. Syringes and Equipment Storage: Cleaning: Wash all syringes, spoons, and mixing cups immediately after use with hot, soapy water. Sanitizing: Soak the equipment in a pet-safe disinfectant solution (like F10) or boiling water. Drying: Let the tools air-dry completely on a clean paper towel. Storage: Store the completely dry tools in a sealed ziplock bag or a clean plastic container to keep dust and airborne bacteria out. Freshness: Throw away leftovers; never reheat old mix. Step-by-Step Feeding Process Check Crop: Ensure the crop is completely empty before feeding again. Weigh Chick: Use a digital gram scale before the first morning meal. Calculate Portion: Feed exactly 10% of the chick's current body weight in ml (e.g., a 400g chick gets 40ml). Position Chick: Place the chick on a stable, non-slip surface facing you. Insert Syringe: Enter from the left side of the beak, aiming toward the right side of the throat. Administer Food: Steady, gentle trigger presses timed with the chick's natural swallowing/pumping motion. Mixing Ratio Guide Always mix NutriBird A19 powder with warm, boiled water. Hatching to Day 2: 1 part formula to 6 parts water. Day 2 to Day 3: 1 part formula to 5 parts water. Day 3 to Day 4: 1 part formula to 4 parts water. Day 4 to Day 5: 1 part formula to 3 parts water. Day 5 to Weaning: 1 part formula to 2 or 2.5 parts water. To help me tailor this, what is the bird's current age in days or weeks, and what is its current weight in grams? Knowing if you are using a syringe or a spoon will also help me give the right advice.
