Unknown Black High D Whistle

A vintage mass-produced pennywhistle with a black-painted brass body and plastic mouthpiece. The brass lends it a welcome bit of heft in the hand, and it plays with a bright, spirited tone. Both the finish and the mouthpiece suggest some age. The maker is unknown, though it bears a resemblance to the older Feadog whistles and may well be one. Either way, it is a characterful old whistle of the classic mass-produced type.
