digital ticket | Evening Talk: Real Community
What does community really mean beyond the buzzword? In this evening talk, Ana Barros, founder of Matriarchive, explores what it takes to build a community that is more than a name, a campaign, or a promise of belonging. After almost twelve years as a Creative Director and ten years running her own agency, Ana stepped back to dedicate herself fully to architecture photography, and to building the kind of creative community she had been looking for but couldn't find. Matriarchive grew from that idea: a collective of over 40 women working across architecture, art, photography, design, and research, built around genuine collaboration, care, and mutual support. Inspired by the matriarchal household Ana grew up in and the idea of a “villa for the village”, Matriarchive is now becoming something physical: a home for the collective in Vienna, opening its doors during Vienna Design Week. Through the story of Matriarchive, Ana will reflect on what meaningful communities require, and why real community is less about the word itself and more about the practice of showing up, building together, and caring consistently over time. The talk will be followed by an open Q&A with Ana and an informal networking space, offering an opportunity to continue the conversation and connect with others from Vienna's creative community. when: Tuesday, September 29th, 2026 | 19:00–20:00 where: la maison, Sonnenfelsgasse 3, 1010 Vienna host: Ana Barros, founder of Matriarchive language: English entry: Free
