The 2016 vintage is widely regarded as a modern classic, shaped by a wet spring followed by a long, dry summer and warm, dry autumn, resulting in wines with ripe fruit, vibrant acidity, structured tannins, and excellent balance. The vintage offers a great opportunity to explore the stylistic differences between Bordeaux’s two banks, with Left Bank wines traditionally built around Cabernet Sauvignon, while Right Bank blends are typically Merlot-dominant. Shawn will guide you through six 2016 Bordeaux wines, with three selections from the Left Bank and three from the Right Bank. Taste the contrast between these two distinct styles while exploring how grape varieties, soils, and appellations shape the wines of Bordeaux. Light shared appetizers will also be served during the tasting.
