The Perdomo Legacy Father & Son Maduro is Nicholas Perdomo III's blend. He created the original Legacy line as a 60th birthday gift for his father, and this is the one he took on alone in the follow-up. Every leaf in it comes from 2011-2016 harvests, which is why the whole Father & Son series is limited. Perdomo almost never does limited. The wrapper is a Nicaraguan Maduro, dark and oily. Under it sits the tobacco the entire project is built around: a Habano-and-Cameroon-seed hybrid that Nick Perdomo Jr. developed and grows under shade at Finca Natalie in Esteli. All three Father & Son blends use that hybrid as their binder. The fillers come from Perdomo's own farms in Esteli, Condega, and Jalapa. Everything carries 10 to 15 years of age. It runs medium to full. Cocoa and espresso lead, with earth and black pepper through the middle and a molasses sweetness the Cameroon side of the binder pushes forward. The maduro wrapper gives it weight without turning bitter. The decade of age is what keeps it clean. The taper changes what the blend does as it burns. The narrow sections concentrate the smoke, the wide midsection opens it up. Perdomo builds the 50-count chests at its own box factory. Which Father & Son Should You Smoke All three share the same hybrid binder and the same aged filler. The Connecticut is the mild one, cedar and cream. The Maduro is the richest, cocoa and espresso with real body. The Nicaraguan Shade Grown puts the hybrid leaf on the outside as the wrapper, which is the whole reason the tobacco exists.
