Engineered for professional installations, it combines dual-spectrum optical smoke detection with highly accurate thermistors to identify both smouldering fires and rapid temperature increases, ensuring comprehensive fire protection in residential, commercial, and light industrial environments. Utilising Ajax's proprietary Jeweller communication technology, the detector delivers secure two-way wireless communication with a transmission range of up to 1,700 metres in open space. Dynamic key encryption, frequency hopping, and device authentication provide robust protection against interference, spoofing, and sabotage, while instant event notifications and remote configuration through Ajax apps simplify system management. The FireProtect detector features a patented smoke chamber that protects the optical sensor from dust, dirt, and insects, reducing the likelihood of false alarms and ensuring long-term reliability. The dual-spectrum optical sensor accurately detects smoke particles while remaining immune to water vapour, minimising nuisance activations. Temperature monitoring is performed by two thermistors and supports multiple heat sensor modes, including Ajax Systems EN 54-compliant A1R, A1S, BR, and BS settings, allowing installers to tailor operation according to the protected environment. Connection loss is detected in as little as 36 seconds, providing prompt notification of communication failures. Designed for ease of installation and maintenance, the detector includes the SmartBracket mounting panel, allowing the unit to be rotated up to 90° after installation. Integrated tamper protection and a locking mechanism help prevent unauthorised removal. Powered by two pre-installed CR123A lithium batteries, the device offers up to six years of fire security and supports tool-free battery replacement with reverse polarity protection.
