Every matcha has a story. This one begins in the misty hills of Yame, Fukuoka. For years, one dedicated female tea producer has devoted herself to a single cultivar: Yabukita. With patience, tradition and craftsmanship, she creates ceremonial matcha using only the season’s first flush, hand-picked leaves from her single estate. Each batch is slowly ground between granite millstones, preserving its vibrant colour, delicate aroma and remarkable depth of flavour. We named it Chazaru – 茶猿 – meaning Tea Monkey. Silky smooth with a fresh, elegant bitterness, Chazaru unfolds into creamy layers of floral notes, finishing with subtle hints of roasted nuts and cacao. It is refined enough to enjoy traditionally, yet beautifully balanced in a matcha latte. Like all exceptional matcha, Chazaru offers more than flavour.
