The two sealing washers are for the lower-unit gearcase lubricant screws; they are not four-stroke engine-oil seals. The flat plate anode is used in the trim-tab cavity and provides clearance for high-rake propellers. Aluminium anodes are suitable for fresh, brackish and saltwater. Installation should follow the Mercury service manual and specified tightening procedures.
