2027 Ibis Ripmo SRAM 90
The 2027 Ibis Ripmo SRAM 90 is built around a simple idea: bring SRAM’s latest T-Type mechanical shifting to a carbon all-mountain bike without requiring wireless electronics. That combination gives riders the robust architecture of Eagle Transmission with the direct feel and easy ownership of a cable-actuated system. On the Ripmo, it creates a build that feels modern and refined while remaining perfectly suited to long days far from a charger or service bench.SRAM Eagle 90 Transmission is the defining component here. Its wide 10-52 tooth range gives the Ripmo serious climbing capability, and the direct-mount T-Type layout is designed around current UDH frame standards. The mechanical actuation keeps setup familiar while still delivering the load-friendly shifting behavior associated with Transmission. SRAM Maven brakes provide the stopping power, giving this build a distinctly gravity-ready feel when the trail becomes steep or speeds increase. The chassis is Ibis’s V3 carbon Ripmo with 150mm of dw-link rear travel and a 160mm front-travel target. The suspension curve is more progressive than previous generations and works with 230x60mm air or coil shocks. Ibis tunes the kinematics by frame size, which helps smaller riders receive the same combination of efficiency and control as riders on the largest frames. The result is a bike that pedals cleanly but has the support to stay composed through repeated hits.A 64.5-degree head angle and size-specific rear-center dimensions keep the bike stable without making it feel lazy. Small and Medium builds use mixed wheels out of the box, while Extra Medium, Large, and Extra Large use 29-inch wheels front and rear. The flip chip makes both layouts available across all sizes. Riders can therefore chase maximum rollover and stability with dual 29s or choose the quicker-turning personality of a 27.5-inch rear wheel.Trail practicality has been built into the frame as carefully as the suspension. Large downtube storage is accessed through a sealed, glove-friendly door, and two Cotopaxi bags help keep tools and food from rattling around inside. The frame uses a threaded 73mm BSA bottom bracket, Boost rear spacing, 55mm chainline, and a UDH hanger. Tire clearance reaches 2.5 inches, while the rear brake mount supports rotors up to 220mm for riders who need maximum heat capacity. For riders who like the strength and shifting logic of SRAM Transmission but would rather skip batteries, the SRAM 90 Ripmo is a particularly appealing middle ground. It preserves the mechanical simplicity many riders prefer while giving the bike a hard-charging brake package and a thoroughly current drivetrain interface. Add the Ripmo’s efficient dw-link suspension, adjustable wheel format, and lifetime-backed carbon frame, and the result is a versatile machine built to take abuse without adding unnecessary complexity.
