Sumbul Pendant with Emerald - Solid Gold
The word for hyacinth in Ottoman Turkish was sümbül. This fragrant flower is one of the four flowers traditionally featured on Iznik wares. Its leaves are represented here, haloing a radiant 0.62ct emerald bezel-set in 18K Gold, and suspended from its oval frame on a swivel clasp which can be clipped directly onto a chain. The flowers of a hyacinth were often used in Ottoman poetry as a metaphor for the curls of one’s beloved’s hair. Enamel may be customised upon request. 1.3cm x 1.7cm.
