These pretty much fit every 1.4 MultiAir/T-Jet engine that have ever been produced. Lets get to the details! The factory springs are far to weak to work on tuned cars, especially the stock turbo models. Why? Back pressure!!! The spring seat pressure (this is closed valve pressure) can be as low as 32 lbs of pressure. What does that mean? This means that the exhaust valves start to leak at or around 28/30 psi. For those that do not know, the factory back pressure on the stock turbo when tuned, can exceed 36 psi. Thus, the back pressure is forcing exhaust fumes into your fresh intake and fuel charge. More or less, exhaust gasses are getting pumped into your fuel and fresh air charge from the intake valve opening. This is bad. The competitors have springs, but these no only increase the spring seat pressure, but also the open pressure. This puts an additional strain on the MultiAir systems, which sucks. Who wants to replace the MA brick every 2 years, not me. Solution? Get a beehive type spring (like ours) that has an increase in seat pressure, but very little increase in open spring pressure. This was the trick we had to figure out, enter.... the Tork Motorsports High Rev Kit! The Tork Motorsports spring kit retains a 6%-8% open spring rate, yet has a base closed spring pressure increase of 12 lbs. Again, stock closed pressure: Closed average is 36 lbs our new spring is 46 lbs Open average is 110lbs our new spring is 114 lbs Spring bind (for you tech guys) stock spring is 142lbs our new spring is 152 lbs Now, lets make the deal even better? Is that possible? We include our valve spring retainers (8150 steel) with a perfect taper for cinched factory valve locks. Did I mention the spring seat locators, that not only protect the aluminum head but also provide spring location for the base of the spring, adding more spring stability! Then... we top it off with a brand name valve stem seal!!! These are not your run of the mill components. Our spring seat locators fill the whole spring seat, thus... providing a greater area of load reinforcement and near zero movement from the spring seat (its damn near a near perfect fit). The spring to seat connection, almost snaps together like a Lego, again... near perfection. The idea with this kit was to make something that was not only reliable and didn't beat up the MA brick, but was capable of 8,000 + RPM while maintaining valve/spring stability. Over engineer for a complicated system, and you get a reliable product. Now, the only take away from these springs is that some of the cam housing/cradle assemblies may need to be ground down a little for clearance (the thing that holds the cam and lash/lifter assemblies. As a lot of you who have torn these engines down, there can be some pretty wild casting flash left over on the aluminum parts, so we highly recommend you look these over and check clearance prior to finishing the install. We have found that it only takes 10 to 15 minutes with a Dremel to clean these up. What can I say? I have been doing the MA Fiat engines for the last 14 years and in that time I have figure out many great upgrades and solutions to problems in this platform. Our competitors offer springs that do not have near the features, or design ideas built into them, and get crazy amounts for an incomplete kit. I am not going to do that to you, so we are going to offer a "complete kit" that has every attribute build into our offering! You get: Springs Spring seats Retainers Valve stem seals (currently MAHLE, but may switch to OEM when they become available again) We will also have a gasket kit listed for the spring replacement, but most if not all of the gaskets can be used over again (most of them are stamped steel or rubber o-ring design) thus, making the replacements no needed. While you are hear, might as well upgrade the MultiAir springs and drop in a set of head studs (you can do the head studs one at a time swap)... making this the ultimate build!
