Refractory Gold Ore Quartz Crystal Specimen | Specimen 8
This refractory gold ore specimen is being sold as a geological and mineral display piece due to the quartz crystals that formed within fractures created during ancient hydrothermal explosion events. These explosive hydrothermal processes fractured and brecciated the host rock, creating open cavities and fracture zones that were later filled by silica-rich fluids, allowing quartz crystals to grow throughout the specimen. The specimen contains sulfide-rich refractory gold mineralisation with minute silver values and antimony-bearing minerals. Some free gold is present within the ore, however it occurs in micron-sized particles typically only visible under magnification or a microscope. Most of the gold remains locked within sulfide minerals, making the ore refractory and unsuitable for simple gravity recovery methods. This specimen is ideal for: Mineral and crystal collections Geological display collections Refractory gold ore collectors Educational and study purposes Quartz and hydrothermal mineral enthusiasts Sulfide ore and mineral specimen collectors Specimen Size: 9cm x 9.5cm x 6cm Important Disclaimer: This specimen is sold strictly as a collectible geological display sample. I do not recommend crushing, roasting, smelting, or chemically processing this material. The ore contains refractory sulfides and antimony-bearing minerals. Roasting or chemical liberation processes can release toxic and hazardous gases. Any attempt to process the specimen is entirely at the buyer’s own risk and responsibility. By purchasing this item, the buyer acknowledges that this specimen is intended for collection and display purposes only. Shipping: Australia-wide shipping only. No international shipping available.
