FARGESIA NITIDA 'BLACK DRAGON'

Fargesia Nitida 'Black Dragon' is a striking clumping bamboo that brings architectural elegance to any garden. With dark purple-black culms and delicate grey-green foliage, this refined plant creates a vertical accent without overwhelming your space. Reaching 3 - 4 metres in height with a 1 - 1.5 metre spread, it's perfect for borders, containers, or as a standalone specimen. Best grown in semi-shade, will tolerate some sun Cold-hardy and well-suited to the Scottish climate, capable of tolerating temperatures down to -18°C to -20°C. Can be pruned to manage size, thin congestion, or remove dead growth. Pruning is best done in late winter or early spring (before new growth) or for thinning, in late spring/early summer. Cut unwanted canes at ground level with loppers, or trim sides for hedging.
