In this hands-on class, students will learn how to make and use foundational remedies such as tea, tincture, poultice, salve, infused oils, and aromatherapy, while also exploring the deeper roots of herbal practice through intention, stewardship, self-care, and respect for the natural world. We’ll cover ingredient quality, basic safety, and important considerations for children and pets, giving students a grounded and welcoming introduction to herbalism as both practical craft and living tradition. * Learn the foundations of herbal medicine making through hands-on work with teas, tinctures, poultices, salves, infused oils, and aromatherapy. * Understand how different preparations work, when to choose one over another, and how form changes the way a plant supports the body. * Build confidence around ingredient quality, storage, labeling, shelf life, and the practical basics that make homemade remedies more trustworthy and effective. * Explore important safety considerations for beginners, including children, pets, essential oils, dosage, and when to slow down or seek support. * Step into the deeper heart of herbal practice through intention, stewardship, self-care, and the respectful relationship that turns remedy making into living tradition. 3-4 hours, $65. Clary Gardens offers recreational trails for all ages and varying levels of terrain, showcasing the rose garden all the way through our half-mile woodland loop - a fascinating area with natural geologic formations (a local favorite).
