THE FOOT A MULTIDISCISLINARY PERSPECTIVE
The foot, with its intricate anatomy and dynamic function, is one of the most remarkable structures of the human body. It serves as the foundation for balance, posture, and locomotion, yet it is also prone to a wide spectrum of disorders that challenge clinicians across many specialties. Managing these conditions effectively requires not only clinical experience but also an integrated understanding that bridges diverse medical disciplines. This book was born from the belief that a truly effective approach to foot disorders must be multidisciplinary. Bringing together con-tributions from experts in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Rheumatology, Neurology, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Complementary Medicine, Pediatrics, Algology, and Sports Medicine, this work represents a collective effort to share up-to-date knowledge, clinical insights, and practical approaches from each of these perspectives. Throughout its 51 chapters, the book offers a comprehensive overview of the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of foot conditions. It aims not only to serve as a scientific reference but also as a practical guide that clinicians can apply in everyday practice. We hope it will inspire readers to view the foot not merely as an isolated anatomical region, but as a dynamic structure interconnected with the entire human body and the disciplines that care for it. We also believe that this book will contribute to a better under-standing of foot diseases, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and achieve more successful outcomes in patient care. It has been a great honour for me, both professionally and per-sonally, to undertake the editorship of this book. I am deeply grateful to all the contributing authors for their dedi-cation, collaboration, and expertise. Their collective work has trans-formed a challenging idea into a valuable source of knowledge. It is our pleasure to present this work as one of the comprehensive contributions from Türkiye to the international medical literature.
