Taught by a fully credentialed SoCalROC Teacher Duration: 2-week course (9 instruction days) June 22-26 (Monday-Friday) June 29-July 2 (Monday-Thursday; No class on July 3) Time: Two (2) hours – You can choose one of these options: Early Morning Session (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) Late Morning Session (10:30 AM to 12:30 PM) LUNCH IS AVAILABLE TO ALL STUDENTS ENROLLED (10 AM to 10:30 AM) Location: Redondo Union High School (One Sea Hawk Way, Redondo Beach, CA 90277) Grade Level: Incoming 6th, 7th, 8th Enrichment Only – Not for Credit Course description: This class will highlight the basics of welding as a process to join metals together using heat, cover key safety procedures, expose you to different welding techniques like oxy-acetylene and stick welding, and even allow you to practice simple welding projects. Students will be in a setting that provides hands-on experience with the tools and equipment involved in metal fabrication.and power brushing. Topics covered in this course: Introduction to metal joinery Safety procedures Various welding techniques Hands-on use of tools and safety equipment All materials and supplies are provided by SoCal ROC
