Bursting Vintage Meisen Kimono Silk Piece, 14" x 50" from Japan #ZP-47

Large blossoms like fireworks, in browns and taupes, black, red, white, forest, orange, neon yellow. The background is cool gray and the entire design seems painterly and a little reminiscent of American barkcloth of the same era. An artisan created, vintage treasure, it is a true ikat, so both sides are just the same. It has Meisen's desirable, intentional, traditional blur. One selvedge is red. Thin and light, it's a bit sleek and a bit crisp, with a slight sheen. This silk is from a 1930's-50's kimono, and is in quite good condition. Sold per 14" x 50" piece. 100% Silk. Meisen. Japan.
