1975 Japan Air Lines Travel Poster - Original Vintage Poster

Japan Air Lines travel poster featuring a beautifully stylized Japanese woman in a traditional kimono holding a lantern. The poster was produced as a promotional travel piece for Japan Air Lines (JAL), encouraging travelers to explore Japan during the golden age of international air travel. The “Japan Air Lines” branding and JAL crane logo identify it as part of the airline’s classic advertising material distributed through travel agencies and airline offices. The artwork on the poster is “Hagi (Japanese Bush Clover)” by Shinsui Itō, dated 1954. Shinsui Itō (1898–1972) was one of the leading artists of the Japanese shin-hanga movement, known for elegant depictions of women, landscapes, and seasonal motifs inspired by traditional ukiyo-e woodblock prints. So while the airline poster itself was likely printed in 1975, the original artwork reproduced on it dates from 1954.
