Marambangbilang Dhinadhina Dhinadhina Marramarra. 50 Years of Deadly. The artwork on this Mug depicts my personal interpretation of the NAIDOC 2026 theme in Wiradjuri language. Marrambangbilang (Deadly/Super awesome) - Dhinadhina (twenty) 20 + Dhinadhina (twenty) 20 + Marramarra (ten) 10 = Fifty years of walking toward recognition, rights, and self-determination. The footprint path wrapping this mug is also mine. It traces where we have come from as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples - from the shadows of invisibility to where we stand now - and walks forward into the future we are still building. Every milestone on this path was chosen because it marks a moment when we became more visible, more counted, more heard. This is not an official history. It is a this Wiradjuri woman's reading of Country. The path The footprints walk from 1938 - the Day of Mourning in Sydney, when we refused to be invisible - up through the Wave Hill Walk-Off, the 1967 Referendum, the formation of NADOC, the inclusion of Torres Strait Islander peoples, and a quiet personal milestone in 1965: a grandfather and his granddaughter walking Wiradjuri Country. Every moment carrying stories forward. The path ends at 2026.
