Colombia Las Nubes Wush Wush
Roast: Light Tasting notes: Floral and sweet with notes of blackberry and hibiscus For those of you who've yet to encounter it, Wush Wush is an heirloom variety indigenous to the wild coffee forests of Bonga, Ethiopia. While Wush Wush was brought from Ethiopia to Colombia in the 1990s, it's really just gained popularity in the last 10 years. This prominence has come in part from the variety's success and accolades in competitions like Cup of Excellence, the most prestigious coffee competition in the world. Colombia Las Nubes ("The Clouds") Wush Wush is grown at very high altitudes of 1950-2000 meters and has an extended fermentation natural process, wherein the coffee seeds are dried inside the fruit. This slow, careful process concentrates the bean's natural sugars and enhances the complexity of its flavor — exactly what makes Wush Wush so coveted among specialty coffee enthusiasts. Las Nubes sits high in the Colombian Andes, where cool temperatures and misty cloud cover slow the maturation of the coffee cherry, allowing deeper, more nuanced flavors to develop. It's a truly special single-origin Colombian coffee that reflects everything we love about sourcing from small, high-altitude farms. We recommend using this coffee for drip coffee, but as always it will be delicious with whatever your brewing method of choice!
