Politics
Politics by John Pitre is a satire on the folly of man—playing foolish political games to satisfy his neurotic obsession with power. The figures in the center represent a government in decline, portrayed as fools wearing diapers and party hats, elevated atop the wealth of a nation—placed there by those who truly control it. On the left, military factions plot to seize power by coup, while on the right, religious and special interest groups bribe politicians for influence. As witnessed throughout politics, there are those who deceive, steal, and betray for a piece of the illusionary narcotic of power. In their selfish preoccupations, many remain oblivious to the signs on the horizon—warnings of what their pursuits may ultimately bring: the meaningless destruction of everything they have come to know… the darkest consequence politics has always creates—war.
