C3yoyodesign - Episteme An A7075 + stainless-rim bimetal built to chase the very top of 3A. The Episteme is the first signature model for Oh Ji Ho, the 3A champion of Team C3 Korea. The body is machined from A7075, an aluminum harder and stronger than ordinary alloys, and paired with outer stainless steel rims to form a bimetal construction. It was created as a yo-yo that satisfies everything Oh Ji Ho looks for: a wide profile, the ideal weight, and superior stability. In 3A, keeping two simultaneously thrown yo-yos securely on the string makes width essential, so the Episteme adopts a width of over 48mm, quite wide for a 3A model. The weight distribution of the A7075 body and stainless rims is tuned so that it spins with real power yet still moves nimbly on the string. With stability and power present from the very first throw, you can keep landing tricks with confidence, even on stage. It is engineered to handle both the fast, dynamic modern 3A and the calmer, mount-based traditional 3A in equal balance. The name "Episteme" means "knowledge and understanding" in Greek (you may have heard of "epistemology," which shares the same root). There is no single correct answer in yo-yoing; each player builds their own style through experience and continuous learning, and that very process is captured in the name. Tuned for 3A first, it also performs at a high level in 1A and 5A.
