8479 KEF B110 SP1003 Bextrene Bass/Midrange Drivers — Matched Pair | Made in England | Famous LS3/5A Drive Unit | Checked & Tested by Andrew The KEF B110 SP1003 is a 5-inch bass/midrange drive unit manufactured by KEF Electronics in Maidstone, Kent, and one of the most significant and widely used loudspeaker drivers in British hi-fi history. Fitted with a Bextrene plastic cone, the B110 SP1003 remained in production for over 18 years and was used across a remarkable range of well-regarded speakers, most famously as the bass/mid unit in the classic 15-ohm BBC-licensed LS3/5A, as well as in the KEF Caprice, Coda, Concerto, Cresta II, CS1A, and KEFKIT3, alongside numerous early Linn and DIY transmission-line designs of the era. This is a matched pair, both inspected and tested by Andrew in our workshop. Condition: Grade B — Both units are in generally good order. One driver shows a discolouration mark to the dust cap; this is cosmetic only and does not affect the cone, surround, or mechanical function. Both surrounds are intact and original wiring and inspection labels are present on the rear of each chassis. Please refer to our photographs for a full assessment of cosmetic condition.
