Aloe broomii, commonly known as Snake Aloe, is a striking architectural succulent valued for its dense rosette of grey-green foliage and unusual flower spikes. The broad leaves form a symmetrical mound, while the distinctive flower heads are covered with tightly packed bracts that give them a unique snake-like appearance. It performs best in full sun and free-draining soils, thriving in dry conditions and low-maintenance landscapes. The bold foliage provides year-round structure, while the spectacular flowering display creates a dramatic focal point during the blooming season. Once established, it develops excellent drought tolerance and requires very little ongoing care. They look excellent when used as feature specimens, rockeries, waterwise gardens, coastal landscapes, and architectural plantings where strong form and unusual flowering characteristics are desired. Its distinctive flower spikes make Snake Aloe one of the most recognisable Aloe species in cultivation.
