The Aqara Smart Rim Lock U500 is a front-and-back, surface-mounted smart lock that requires no mortise, making it a simple, modern upgrade from a traditional rim lock on most entrance and interior doors. Despite the easy fit, it's seriously built: a full metal frame, reinforced dual-hook bolts and a genuine through-lock cylinder stand up to prying and forced entry, while an IP65-rated outer panel shrugs off dust, splashes and heavy rain. Add a home key to Apple Wallet and tap to unlock with your iPhone or Apple Watch — it even works when the iPhone is out of battery or offline, and access can be shared remotely through the Apple Home app. The high-resolution 160 × 160 fingerprint sensor reads instantly and stores up to 50 fingerprints, with all access data kept locally and AES-encrypted. You can also enter via the keypad password, an NFC card, the Aqara Home app, or the supplied mechanical keys. Built on Matter over Thread and the new Aliro standard, the U500 works with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Home Assistant.
