A Memorial Cross, in silver, reverse machine engraved17073 Sgt. J. WRIGHT, with 6 o’clock arm marked STERLING, full size, lovely tone to silver, extremely fine condition. Footnote: Jesse Wright was born in Buckinghamshire, England in 1894. He enlisted for the Great War on September 18, 1914 at Valcartier. His unit sailed on October 4, 1914. Wright arrived in France in February 1915. He suffered from debility and influenza throughout his service in 1916. He was promoted to Sergeant at the end of March, 1917. Wright was killed in action on April 14, 1917, at the Battle of Vimy Ridge. He is buried at the Vimy Memorial.
