BRITISH WWI RFC FLYING HELMET

Obtained by us with a whole grouping of Royal Flying Corps uniforms and accoutrements, this flying helmet is identical to motoring helmets at the time. We cannot definitively guarantee that this was used as a flying helmet; many images exist of the period use of this type of helmet. Nice condition, supple brown leather, some fur losses to the inside, this original manufacturer’s label ‘Warranted finest quality’ with a stag's head and the name ’ Mace ’ applied to the interior. We have found three RFC officers with the name Mace on the list of RFC officers. Ref; 96482
