Parent trees have been growing in a sheltered microclimate in zone 7/8 and have routinely seen temperatures below 15F! Not only one of the most cold hardy feather palms, it can also produce delicious edible dates! Growing to maturity this tree can reach heights of 50 to 80+ feet tall, depending on climate conditions. It is a moderate to fast grower, and has performed incredibly well in dry/cold high desert climates in zones 7-9. In really cold winters these will typically suffer some frond damage but they rebound quickly in spring and look beautiful by summer.
