1959 Fender Jazzmaster Super nice early 1959 Fender Jazzmaster in very good condition with heavy playwear on the body and a beautifully figured neck. The neck is dated January '59, the body February '59, with CTS pots from week 50 of 1958 — putting this one in the very first wave of Jazzmaster production. All the earliest-spec features are in place: thick slab rosewood fretboard, and the original gold-anodized aluminum pickguard that Fender phased out for tortoise later in 1959. The maple neck shows both birdseye and flame figuring across the back. The original frets are still on it but are low after decades of playing — a fretjob is recommended. Electronically it's almost entirely original with untouched solder joints & wiring throughout the cavity. The only exception is the bridge pickup, which has been professionally rewound. Pickup readings: 7.93k neck, 7.96k bridge. Comes in its original Fender tweed case with yellow lining. An amazing, and super cool first-specs Jazzmaster with all-original electronics (bar one rewind), the desirable anodized guard, and a beautifully figured maple neck.
