Tray and Cup 1

A one-of-a-kind tray and cup pairing. Slab-built by hand from speckled stoneware and finished in a light aqua glaze, the tray reduces form to essentials — a rectangle with integral side handles, its working surface impressed with the weave of fabric. The cup sits as its own small cylinder, rim left irregular where the hand released it. The work sits between tableware and still life. The pairing is its own composition, a quiet domestic arrangement caught in glaze. Use it at the table, set it on a console, or let it rest as an object on a shelf.
