2022 La Contralta 'M'illumino' Carignano Isola dei Nuraghi IGT 1.5L Magnum

This is 100% Carignano, sometimes called Carignan. Sourced from a tiny parcel of land (0.25 hectares) on northeast-facing aspect.The hand-harvested fruit is destemmed and fermented with their skins for 15 days in open vats, then transferred to oak casks, where the fruit undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged for 18 months. Before bottling, it is racked several times to clarify naturally. The wine then rests in bottle for a further month prior to release. 'An intense, powerfully dark fruited nose, that quickly moves towards lighter tones of rose petals and a savoury, earthy spice profile.
