Gorgonians are a part of the Alcyonacea family. They have a moderate care level and are filter feeders. Their polyps will catch any food found in the tank. Gorgonians do not require but will benefit from the feeding of coral foods such as marine snow, reef roids, AB+, etc. Gorgonians do not have stinging tentacles/polyps making them peaceful corals. They should be placed in the low to middle section in the tank, in the sand or in the rocks somewhere they will be sturdy and stand upright. Purple whip gorgonians will require moderate light and moderate to strong flow. The flow should be indirectly pointed towards the gorgonian. If the gorgonian is not in ideal conditions then its polyps will not come out.
