IMPORTANT REMINDER: Your insurance coverage, brokered by BMS Canada Risk Services Ltd. (BMS) lapsed on March 31, 2026 if you did not renew your CSEP membership on or before this deadline. To renew your certification, click "add to cart" above, fill in the renewal form that appears on the Cart page, then click "Check Out". Need to renew another membership category? If the button above says "Sold out" and you have not yet renewed your certification, your membership is associated with a different email address. Please log out and log back in to a CSEP Store account with the email address at which you received your renewal reminder. After you submit your payment, please allow 5-10 business days for your renewal to be processed, after which your insurance certificate will be sent to you by email, and you will be able to access your member certificate on your CSEP Store Account page. Professional Development Credits (PDCs) CSEP-CPT®: You are required to collect 20 PDCs in the two-year PDC cycle from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2026. Please retain proof of your PDCs in case you are audited later in 2026 (you do not need to submit proof of your PDCs as part of your renewal). CSEP-CEP®: You do not need to have all 30 PDCs collected this year. Your PDC cycle runs from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2027. Insurance Your CSEP Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) & Commercial General Liability (CGL) Insurance through our broker, BMS, renews when you renew your certification through the CSEP Store. More information about PLI & CGL insurance from BMS (PDF) CSEP members can secure optional insurance solutions through our broker, BMS Canada Risk Services Ltd. (BMS). To secure these solutions, please contact BMS at 1-844-517-1370 or csep.insurance@bmsgroup.com. If you are a CSEP-CPT® with the CSEP High Performance Specialization®, your individual Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) & Commercial General Liability (CGL) Insurance, brokered by BMS, now includes coverage for your CSEP High Performance Specialization services with a limit of $3M per claim/$5M aggregate—all for an additional $30 per year included with your renewal fee. CPR-C Recertification Professional members must hold a valid (not expired) CPR certification. Most CPR certifications are valid for three years from the date of completion. CSEP accepts online and distance learning CPR-C recertification. CSEP has partnered with Pacific Medical Training to offer special pricing for CSEP members on online CPR training. In addition to the courses listed above, CSEP has confirmed that these popular courses also meet the ILCOR standards required by CSEP. Fees CSEP Certified Personal Trainer® renewal fee: $285 + tax CSEP Clinical Exercise Physiologist™ renewal fee: $325 + tax After March 31, a late fee of $60 + tax is added. After April 30, an additional late fee of $40 + tax (total late fee of $100 + tax) is added. After May 31, it is not possible to renew your membership. Payment options CSEP accepts all major credit cards. If you cannot pay the full renewal fee at once, you can split your renewal into three separate payments. Select the "Divide into 3 monthly payments" option above when adding your renewal to your cart. If you select the staggered payment plan as your form of payment for your membership, payments will be processed to your credit card when you submit your order, and then 30 and 60 days thereafter. If you do not have access to a credit card, instructions for paying by e-transfer are found on the renewal form that appears after you add your renewal to your cart. E-transfers can only be used for the full renewal payment, and cannot be split into separate monthly payments. Specializations If you hold a CSEP High Performance Specialization™ or CSEP Pre & Postnatal Exercise Specialization™ this will renew automatically with your CSEP-CPT or CSEP-CEP membership. Not planning on renewing? If you don't plan on renewing your membership, note your Professional Liability (PLI) & Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance, brokered by BMS Canada Risk Services Ltd. (BMS), will expire March 31, 2026 If you no longer require CSEP membership and active PLI because you have retired or discontinued practice, a 5 year extended reporting period endorsement is included within your expired 2025-2026 PLI policy. This endorsement provides coverage for new professional liability claims that come forward within the first 5 years after you have discontinued practice and in respect of professional acts, errors or omissions committed prior to the expiry of your last active policy. Please be advised that by choosing not to renew your certification with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP), you are required to cease all promotion and claims of this certification in relation to your practice as of the expiration date, March 31, 2026. CSEP retains all rights to monitor the use of its intellectual property, certifications and specializations, and may take appropriate action. This includes issuing cease and desist orders, against any individual or entity that claims or implies current certification status by CSEP without fulfilling the annual renewal fee requirement. Failure to meet this requirement by the stated expiration date is considered unauthorized use of CSEP's trademarks and may result in legal action to enforce CSEP's intellectual property rights.
