The 2027 Stockli Montero AS is the quickest, most agile ski in the Montero lineup. If your idea of a great day on the mountain involves making as many turns as possible, this is your ski. At 76 mm underfoot, the AS moves edge-to-edge faster than the AX, AR, and AR Pro. It loves shorter turn shapes, responds instantly to input, and feels incredibly lively underfoot. Despite being the narrowest Montero, it still delivers the smooth, quiet, confidence-inspiring ride that makes Stockli different from everyone else. What makes the AS special is how accessible the performance feels. You don't need a ton of speed or strength to get the ski working. Roll it on edge and it immediately comes alive, pulling you into the next turn with very little effort. The ski feels light, energetic, and playful, but never nervous or unstable. Compared to the AX, the AS is quicker and more eager to make shorter turns. Compared to the AR, it sacrifices some high-speed stability and GS-style power in exchange for more agility and a lower-speed sweet spot. Compared to the AR Pro, they're not even chasing the same goal. The AR Pro wants speed, aggression, and commitment. The AS simply wants you to have fun. Don't mistake that playful character for weakness. The AS still holds an edge exceptionally well and delivers the premium build quality Stockli is famous for. It just does it in a package that's easier to bend, easier to maneuver, and more forgiving than the rest of the Montero family. For skiers who love carving groomers but prefer shorter, more energetic turns, the Montero AS is an absolute blast. It's quick, smooth, confidence-inspiring, and one of the most enjoyable frontside skis we've tested.
