Craigievar

20 x 20 cm Craigievar is one of those castles that almost feels invented already… tall, pink, slightly theatrical and wonderfully improbable against the Aberdeenshire landscape. In this painting I’ve tried to capture that slight sense of theatre and fairytale, where the building seems to rise out of the trees as much from imagination as from stone. It is not a literal view of the castle, but more a memory of it… a place half-seen, half-dreamed – and full of character!
