Midcentury Brutalist-Influenced Pewter Vase
This vintage pewter bud vase from Haugrud Norway is quintessentially mid-century modern. You can just imagine it sitting on a teak furniture piece. Haugrud, located in beautiful Tønsberg a few hours drive south of Oslo, has a long history of delivering beautiful pewter decor. The vase stands just under 8″ with a base that is 3″ in diameter. The opening at the top is around 1.75″ in diameter. To be from the 50’s, it’s in great shape; a few scuff marks on the base and along the top, but that’s to be expected of a pewter piece this old. With a minimalist Brutalist-influenced silhouette, the body features a vertical stud or rivet pattern reminiscent of Viking attire. The bottom is covered in blue felt. The bud vase weighs 6.5oz.
