Handcrafted by Tokoname ceramic artist Yoshiki Murata, this yohen shiboridashi is designed to reveal the depth and umami of high-grade gyokuro and refined sencha. Its shallow form and spout-only straining system allow tea leaves to open gently while enabling the complete extraction of the final infusion, often referred to in Japan as the “golden drop.” Fired using yohen techniques, each piece develops unique colors and textures shaped naturally by the kiln flames, making every shiboridashi one of a kind. The unglazed clay surface gradually acquires a deeper luster through repeated use, further enriching its character over time.
