These upgraded BMP-1 vehicles represented the final and most capable versions of the original BMP-1 family, serving throughout the late Cold War and remaining in use with numerous armies around the world. The BMP-1P introduced the more effective 9K111 Fagot anti-tank missile system, while the BMP-1PM added smoke grenade launchers for improved battlefield survivability.
