Love Is In The Air #2

A little love, a little chaos, and the inevitable ups and downs. 'Love Is in the Air' takes its title from John Paul Young’s Australian classic song. The Scenic Railway becomes a metaphor for life’s ups & downs, while the heart-shaped balloon represents love - whether it’s been found or is quietly floating away is up to you. The balloon is also a small nod to Banksy’s iconic Girl with Balloon, while the weathered fences, old posters and glimpse of the Palais Theatre place the story firmly in St Kilda. Created using hand-cut, multi-layer stencils, aerosol & acrylic paint, it’s my slightly less postcard-perfect take on one of Melbourne’s most recognisable neighbourhoods. Created in Geoff Cunningham’s stencil-inspired style using acrylic and aerosol on canvas. 50 x 60cm (53 x 63cm framed) Acrylic, aerosol & collage on canvas. This piece is framed in a flooded gum floating frame.
