Sing to the Lord Women's Reading Guide

Have you had moments in life where words alone felt insufficient? Many of the individuals we meet in Scripture experienced this same tension. And so they sang. They sang to remember, celebrate, express faith, grieve, worship, and mark moments. The beauty of the songs we find in Scripture is that they weren’t reserved for passionate emoters or those with perfect pitch. The array of songs demonstrates that thoughtful reflection and worship can take on many faithful forms. And though tunes and tones vary, the songs in Scripture demonstrate for us what it can look like to consider and respond to God in the everyday rhythms of our lives. This three-week reading plan explores songs of commemoration, lamentation, and adoration. As you reflect on each song, you may even find yourself responding to the Lord in song too, joining with the generations in singing of the God who is “enthroned on the praises of Israel” (Psalm 22:3).
