Geophagus Mirabillis 15-17CM

Geophagus Mirabillis Meet Geophagus mirabilis, a stunning medium-sized eartheater that hails from the pristine Rio Aripuanã drainage in Brazil! These beauties thrive in clear, warm waters with soft sand bottoms. As they grow, they transform into some of the most gorgeous eartheaters around, with males showing off impressive blue hues. These relatively peaceful cichlids really shine when kept in groups of 5 or more and get along great with other fish that are too large to become snacks. Like all eartheaters, they need a fine sand substrate to do what they do best—sift through sand while hunting for food, which is such a cool behavior to watch!
