KANAKARIS WINERY RODITIS
Kanakaris Roditis is a brilliant example of why I love discovering wines made from lesser-known indigenous grape varieties. Coming from the mountainous slopes of Aigialeia in Greece's Peloponnese, this is a beautifully fresh and vibrant white with lovely citrus, green apple and a hint of tropical fruit. It's crisp and dry, with bright acidity and just enough texture to give it a bit of character. What I really like about this wine is how refreshing and easy-drinking it is without being boring. There's plenty of flavour, but everything stays nicely balanced, making it incredibly versatile with food. Absolutely cracking alongside fresh seafood, grilled fish or a Mediterranean-style lunch. If you're someone who normally reaches for a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, I'd definitely recommend giving this a go. A fantastic introduction to Greek white wines and a great reminder that there's so much more out there to discover.
