Amazonite Maiden Figure by Kateri Sanchez

A striking plump soft mint green, deep teal and blue green Amazonite corn maiden double with striking swirling white veins carved by Kateri Sanchez. Kateri inlaid both of the maiden's faces with gold-lip then she added jet features. The corn rows taper downwards giving depth. There are two incised dragonflies on the back side inlaid with jet pigment. Maidens symbolize the divine gift of the harvest, fertility, and life-giving abundance. They are highly revered fetishes representing the nurturing feminine energies, the creation of sustenance, and the connection to the earth's cycles.
