Vintage 1970 Stacked Disc Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta

A striking silver pendant by Elis Kauppi for the Finnish silver house Kupittaan Kulta, featuring the same design as the matching ring. The pendant consists of six hollow silver discs of different sizes. They are staggered under and over one another, creating an elongated, almost floating composition. The recessed areas have a dark patina, while the higher surfaces are smoothly polished. This contrast adds extra depth and makes the design appear different from every viewing angle. The pendant is fitted with a later-added faceted curb chain in sterling silver. The chain is 50 cm long and gives the fairly large pendant enough room to fall beautifully on the chest. Both the pendant and the chain are in very good vintage condition. The silver shows some light superficial signs of wear, but no major damage.
